PREZZI- BRAVEHEART

My elder son is a commuter!!!

Commuter is a person who travels everyday to work. It happens in big cities, because people live outside the city, and live in the surroundings, because flats and food is cheaper.

Some people are lucky enough to work at home or live very close to where they work. Others are commuters: commuters need to travel to work. Being a commuter isn't easy, because it might take anywhere from 20 minutes to two hours to get from home to work and then back again.

In Spain, we can find commuters in Madrid and Barcelona. You have to take the tube, the train, the bus, etc, to go from one place to another. I have an aunt in Madrid, and some cousins, and they travel everyday, for one hour or two.
I don't like spending a long time in transports, so I prefer to live in small cities or villages where everything is near.

Don't you like classical music?

Croatian cello duo 2Cellos took the public attention after uploading a cello-only cover of Michael Jackson's "Smooth Criminal" to YouTube. Then, the players Luka Sulic and Stjepan Hauser signed a contract with Sony in 2010 and released their debut album the following year. In 2013, they launched another album called" In2ition" based on songs from AC/DC and Coldplay l. "Orient Express." The duo's third studio album, 2015's "Celloverse", included songs inspired on Iron Maiden's "The Trooper," AC/DC's "Thunderstruck," and Mumford & Sons' "I Will Wait."
I have seen the video about these two players, they play very well!! But I don't like classical music very much... I listen to music every day on my mobile phone because I like listening to music a lot while I´m doing my homework, but I prefer other kinds of music, specially pop and latin music. I have to say that I used to listen to classical music when I was at school, in the music subject, but I didn't like it.
All in all, although I like music very much, I prefer music which I can dance.

  • For example, this song is good, alhought is classical music:

Beware, travellers: Zika virus, the latest public health emergency

People travel from one place to another everyday, and viruses and bacterias travel with them. I have seen on the news that a new virus has apperared, the virus of Zika. This illness is transmitted by a mosquito, it is not very serious, because it´s as a cold, you can have temperature and muscular pain. It affects especially pregnant women, whose children can have several problems in the future.

In Spain, there are some people that have that illness, but they are recovered now. In South America, it is an epidemic, and they are trying to kill the mosquito. So, what can we do? As there is no treatment, the only option is to reduce the risk of being bitten, use insect repellents, cover up with long-sleeved clothes, and keep windows and doors closed.

I hope that scientists can find a cure or a vaccine for that illness, specially for pregnant women.

Another BLACK day in the world of music: What a wonderful life he sang!!!

I didn't know anything about this artist, but I have read on the internet that he is an artist who was born in Liverpool but he had been living in Ireland. His fist gig was New Year’s Day, 1982 and his debut single 'Human Features' was released the same year.He signed for WEA records in 1984, but the relationship was not fruitful and Mr Vearncombe was dropped during the promotion period for the single ‘More Than The Sun.’ It was following this that Mr Vearncombe wrote one of his most well-known songs, ‘Wonderful Life’, with record label A&M. It became an international hit following its release in 1987. His later work was not able to reach the same level of commercial success, though he was able to continue recording music, releasing 14 albums over the course of his life. His latest, ‘Blind Faith’, was released in 2015."Wonderful life"is his most famous song, which was a hit around the world. He married the singer Camilla and had three children. He died in a accident in Cork on January 26th 2016. I'm going to listen to this famous song, but I think I will not like it very much.

The economic situation in China is becoming worse and worse as petrol is cheaper and cheaper

China is one of the most important economies in the world. Now, it is one of the richest countries, and some people say that in some years, it is going to be the richest. Now, there is an economic crisis in China because the price of pretol is falling and its economy can't grow forever.
I think that the countries can't be always growing, they must reach a top. For example, the economy in Spain grew very fast during some years and now we have an economic crisis.
I think that we must learn to speak Chinese because if China grows a lot, we can find many jobs in China!!

MLK, a wise man to bear in mind

Martin Luther King, Jr. was born in Atlanta, GA on January 15th, 1929. He went to Booker T. Washington High School, then he got his doctor's degree in Theology at Boston University. Martin's dad was a preacher and he inspired Martin. He had a younger brother and an elder sister. In 1953 he married Coretta Scott. Later, they had four children.
He was an American civil right activist who fought against the discrimination of African Americans. He hoped that America and the world could become a tolerant society He is considered one of the great orators of modern times, and his speeches still inspire many to this day. In one of his marches, he gave his "I Have a Dream" speech. This speech has become one of the most famous speeches in history.

Martin Luther King, Jr. was assassinated on 4th April 1968 in Memphis, TN. While standing on the balcony of his hotel, he was shot by James Earl Ray.
Now, there is still a lot of racial discrimination in all the world. He made a lot of things to make us more tolerant, but we have a lot to learn!!!
